OOCL – Emergency Bunker Surcharge

Dear Customer,

 

OOCL has issued the following update to the industry:

 

Due to the ongoing conflict in the Middle East, fuel transportation through the Strait of Hormuz continues to face significant disruption, impacting global fuel availability. To ensure sufficient fuel supply for cargo movements and maintain service stability, we will introduce a temporary Emergency Bunker Surcharge (EBS).

 

This surcharge will be applied globally to address the elevated fuel costs that exceed the coverage of our existing Fuel Cost Recovery (FCR) and Low Sulphur Adjustment (LSA) mechanisms.

 

Effective April 13, 2026, CY Receipt

 

Canada to Trans-Atlantic Trade

  • US $ 50/20’ dry container
  • US $ 100/40’ dry container

Canada to Trans-Pacific Trade

Sailing West Coast

  • US $ 32/20’ dry container
  • US $ 40/40’ dry container

Sailing East Coast

  • US $ 40/20’ dry container
  • US $ 50/40’ dry container
