MSC - Emergency Fuel Surcharge

Dear Customer,

 

MSC has issued the following update to the industry:

 

 

Due to the ongoing situation in the Middle East and its impact on global fuel costs, MSC Canada will implement an Emergency Fuel Surcharge (EFS) on all export shipments from Canada.

 

The surcharge will take effect as follows:

 

  • Exports to all countries (excluding the United States): EFS will be effective March 9, 2026 (based on sail date)
  • Exports to the United States: EFS will be effective April 1, 2026

 

The applicable surcharge will be:

 

  • USD 150 per 20’ – Dry containers
  • USD 300 per 40’ – Dry containers
  • USD 265 per 20’ – Reefer containers
  • USD 530 per 40’ – Reefer containers
