Dear Customer,

Hapag Lloyd has issued the following update to the industry:

Due to the current geopolitical situation and the resulting uncertainty in the international energy market, particularly regarding key supply routes, diesel prices are expected to become more volatile in the coming weeks. Since diesel is a significant cost component in inland transportation and handling, short-term price fluctuations could affect the operating costs of inland services.

As a result, Hapag-Lloyd will implement an Emergency Rail Fuel Surcharge effective March 15, 2026, CY Receipt. This charge will be applicable to any container that moves on rail in North America. The amount is as follows and will be subject to fluctuation on a regular basis.

  • US $ 66.00 per dry container

Please reach out to your Hensall Global representative should you have any questions.

Sincerely,

HENSALL GLOBAL LOGISTICS
