ACL – Emergency Bunker Charge

Dear Customer,

ACL has issued the following update to the industry:

We would like to inform you that, due to recent and significant increases in global fuel costs, we will be implementing an Emergency Bunker Charge (EBC) on All CARGO MOVING BETWEEN NORTH EUROPE, UK, IRELAND, SCANDINAVIA, AND CANADA, US EAST COAST.

Surcharge Type: Emergency Bunker Charge (EBC)
Effective Date: 5th April 2026
Amount: 125 USD per 20’ dry container & 250 USD per 40’ dry container

This surcharge will be applied on top of any Bunker Adjustment Factor or Supplemental Bunker Surcharge that may already be applicable and will apply to all tariff rates (ACLU-070, ACLU-073) and confidential service contracts.

This temporary surcharge is necessary to help offset the sharp rise in bunker fuel prices that are impacting transportation and logistics operations worldwide. The Emergency Bunker Charge will take effect from 5th April 2026.

Please note that this measure is intended to address exceptional market conditions and will be reviewed regularly in line with fuel price developments.
