Dear Customer,
Unfortunately, the unionized dockworkers (CUPE) have rejected the offer from the employers (MEA), having voted 99.71% to reject.
The dockworkers have not formally asked to strike but rather have asked to return to the negotiating table.
We are uncertain at this time how this will play out, given that both CN and CP rail have shut down container traffic to the Port of Montreal pre-emptively.
We are continuing to work to obtain clarification from the industry and will advise further as updates become available.
