ILWU Strike - Update #8

Dear Customer,

 

The BCMEA has confirmed that the ILWU Longshore Caucus has approved and will recommend to their membership the terms of the tentative settlement that was proposed by the senior federal mediator.

The ILWU will be conducting a stop working meeting on the 0800 (day) shift on Tuesday, July 25th, 2023 to recommend the terms of the tentative settlement to their membership.

Please note that that the container terminals in Vancouver will be closed on the 0800 (day) shift on Tuesday, July 25th, 2023.

The terminals will re-open for the 1700 (evening) shift on Tuesday, July 25th, 2023.

 

This deal is expected to be voted upon by the ILWU voting membership on Thursday, July 27 and Friday, July 28th.

 

We continue to monitor the situation and will provide further updates once known.
