Canada Europe Trade - Update

Dear Customer,

 

Please be aware that the Canadian trade is currently facing severe operational limitations due to continuing low water levels in the St Lawrence River.  Vessel operators are facing further schedule reliability issues due to terminal congestion both in North Europe and North America and the Canadian trade has experienced operational bottlenecks in Montreal due to the strike action in April 2021 and construction works in June 2021. 

The persisting low water levels in the St Lawrence River are expected to continue for some time. While the vessel operators are doing all possible to maximize vessel capacity it should be expected in the interim that these low water levels will prevent them from being able to fully service all bookings as planned. Some containers will need to be rolled as vessel intake must be monitored to ensure that the operators can safely navigate their vessels in low water conditions. 

 

We continue to monitor the situation and are working to provide notification of booking adjustments as announced.
