Supply Chain Update

Dear Customer,

As you are aware based on previous communications, the labour strike in the port of Montreal disrupted the normal supply chain flow and triggered utilization of alternative routings (Halifax, US east coast) which were not accustomed to such high volumes.

As a result, the infrastructure continues to face challenges resolving the accumulation of congestion and back log created as a result of the strike.

Both CN and CP have all assets deployed and are working with the respective ports to develop strategies to minimize dwell times and delays.

While there is ongoing cargo movement, the average dwell time remains at high levels due to port congestion and limitations to container accessibility.  Reports are indicating that there are and will continue to be containers remaining at their respective ports of discharge for up to five weeks.

On the export side, we are seeing a continued restriction or limitation on the number of CN RV’s being provided to the industry.  This will continue to impact cargo movement and fluidity.

In light of the current conditions we strongly recommend that our customers add more buffer time to their supply chains.

We will continue to provide workable solutions where possible and continue to provide updates regarding the status of the network as new information is made available.

Please reach out to your Hensall Global representative should you have any questions or concerns.

Sincerely,

HENSALL GLOBAL LOGISTICS
